Its other name is the Shewhart chart which is created by Mr. Walter A. Shewhart. A control chart will help you in understanding whether the process is in control or not. Control charts usually have three types of lines such as upper and lower statement limits, and your planned value. 

For example, a control chart can be utilized to check the deportment of a chemical agent. 

Let’s say that the chemical agent should be effective for at least 30 minutes in the process, which will help in preventing any harmful effects. 

 In this example, the lower control limit is nearly 30 minutes and the upper control limit is nearly 60 minutes.
